That’s Amore…

Recently, Hollywood hearthrob and confirmed bachelor George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin in Italy.  While millions of cougars lamented the “loss” of their chances with the aging former Lothario, women everywhere watched to see what the blushing bride would wear to attach her ball and chain to our George.  Unlike Brangelina, Mrs. Clooney chose to enjoy her once in a lifetime (crossed fingers!) opportunity to wear a full Wedding Wardrobe.  As if from a bygone era, the bride wore different stunning white ensembles throughout her wedding weekend, including a Katherine Hepburn-esque pants and top with enormous hat to launch the festivities.  Always with her signature large dark sunglasses, she is the epitome of European style.

Later in the weekend, she wore my favorite of all the looks, a Giambatista Valli crochet dress with a slight high-low hemline.  Stepping onto the boat in Venice, there hasn’t been a more gorgeous couple, in my opinion.  She created a true fashion moment.  Her actual wedding dress was traditional and Oscar.  Oscar de la Renta created a lace off the shoulder dress with diamante accents that was absolute perfection.  Continuing her runway weekend, she wore a shortened version of another de la Renta dress for the after party.  Gatsby styling, head to toe.

I know that every bride may not choose such Fashion Pageantry, and that every bride should “do them” on their special day, but this bride, this elegant, dapper groom, this wedding, was breathtaking.  Let’s hope she is the Annette Bening to his Warren Beatty, and that they actually stick this one out.  He’d be a fool to let her slip away.  My favorite headline, from Business Woman Media:

“Internationally acclaimed barrister Amal Alamuddin marries an actor”

You’re one lucky guy, Clooney.  don’t mess this up.
